Censorship for the Wrong Reasons

It seems North American TV has adopted a censorship policy that has backward logic most likely originating from War Time America. Basically, swear words are bad, nudity is bad, and any form of violence or gore is good. A prime example was an episode of House I just watched.

They showed, in detail, House doing surgery on his leg in full detail, yet their patient had a swollen vulva and they couldn’t even show a glimpse of it. Now that wouldn’t be so strange except they always show everything wrong with their patients in great detail, so it was clearly censorship.

Sex has always been the worst thing, thus why “Fuck” is often censored, not because its just a swear word, but because it refers specifically to sex. “Shit” is currently becoming more acceptable. Is it any wonder why we are sexually repressed violent creatures?
